Common Ground Consumer Advisory Board (CGCAB)

The Common Ground Consumer Advisory Board (CGCAB) is a consumer group formed in 2015. Its goal is to integrate consumer involvement in the VCU Ryan White Program to ensure good HIV/AIDS care and further improve HIV/AIDS clinical care.

VCU RWP CAB members feel that being part of the group is an empowering experience as it gives them a voice to make a difference and help bring about change. They appreciate the safe space that the CAB provides, allowing them to express themselves comfortably without any negative influence. Together, they feel like they are making an impact and that they are not alone in their efforts to advocate for important issues, ultimately contributing to a positive force for change in their community.

Meetings are held every 3rd Wednesday in West Hospital from 6pm until 8pm.

Activities Include:

- Consumer feedback and advocacy
- Feedback and input on Ryan White Program policies and procedures
- Involvement in the development of client satisfaction survey
- Involvement in the quality management committee
- Participation in community events
